Donington was the penultimate round of the series and it was all to play for at the top of the championship. Adam showed strong pace in Friday’s testing which he carried through to qualifying on Saturday morning. Adam qualified in second place, making it an Elite Motorsport 1-2.
Race one was held Saturday afternoon, he made a good start and challenged for the lead in the early laps, whilst putting pressure on the leader he unfortunately slipped back to third place where he went on to finish the race.
Starting from the second row of the grid for race two, Adam managed to make an overtake around the outside at the first corner to get himself into second place. By this point the leader had quite a large gap as there wasn’t long enough for Adam to challenge for the lead. He crossed the line in second place to pick up his 14th podium of the season.
The final race of the weekend was very action packed. Adam lined up 5th on the grid for the reverse grid race. It was very tight with lots of cars heading side by side into the first corner. There was a bit of contact which unfortunately caused some damage early on in the race. Following a safety car, he made good progress through the pack and crossed the line in 4th position, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.
There is now only one round left of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship as they head to Brands Hatch for the season finale on the 23/24 October.
